November 2013 the National Association for Black Veterans, Inc. established a 501 (c)(3) non-profit chapter in Delaware. This Delaware affiliate became the 94th chapter to join the national umbrella. With original intentions to serve the needs of minority veterans, NABVETS quickly realized a greater need and opened its doors to all veterans.

Annually, Delaware Chapter 94 hosts a fundraising gala to raise awareness for veteran issues, connect disadvantaged veterans with an array of community resource, and secure sponsorship for the organization’s programs.

This year’s Anniversary Dinner/Gala is held at Kingswood Community Center – 2300 Bower Street; Wilmington, Delaware on November 19, 2016 at 6:00pm.

About

Chapter 94 was established on November 14, 2013 in Wilmington, Delaware. This organization is an affiliation of the National Association for Black Veterans, Inc.

Mission

On an ongoing basis, the National Association for Black Veterans, Inc. will provide strategic advocacy on behalf of its membership with Congress, the Federal Administration, State Administrations and other agencies and organizations. NABVETS will provide personal advocacy on behalf of veterans seeking claims against the United States Department of Veterans Affairs; advocacy for youth in all matters required for successful passage into adulthood; advocacy on behalf of families; with community involvement, provide advocacy in creating positive lifestyles for veterans; and to generate and preserve the historical record.

Vision

“No matter where black veterans are or what they are doing, they recognize that they have a voice in NABVETS and, in that voice, an unyielding champion for justice; and that no matter what the issues or obstacles are, NABVETS will do all it can to protect their rights, promote their cause and restore their dignity; and, in so doing, empower those veterans to make a lasting and positive impact in their communities.”
